Why Robert?

Why

Robert

DeJohn?

Some of you may ask, why should I vote for Robert DeJohn? Here is my answer:

“I was born and raised in Mayfield Heights and have been entrenched in city leadership my entire life; first watching my father lead the city as mayor, and then taking on my own position as councilman. I love this city. I chose to raise my family here and have a vested interested in keeping it a great community. I believe my skills and abilities, combined with my love for Mayfield Heights, will continue to benefit the city as a council member.”

I am committed to:

Finding ways to keep our taxes low while maintaining quality services.

Creating comprehensive programming and services for our senior citizens.

Working with the building department to promote investment in the city.

Continuing to work with city leaders to attract business and promote economic development.

Improving our parks and recreation facilities and activities.

Working towards strong city leadership that promotes cooperation, respect and communication between all branches of government.

Ensuring that our police, fire and service departments have the funding to provide the best possible services.

“My goal is to always bring new ideas to the Mayfield Heights, while focusing on the issues and avoiding “petty politics” for political gain. As the citizens’ voice on council, I always strive to serve with dignity, respect, integrity and most importantly, honesty.”

-Robert DeJohn

I Believe In…

  • An open and transparent government. One where residents are informed on every issue. I have made this a priority throughout my time in council by responding to all resident inquiries and pushing for public recordings of meetings.

  • Choosing candidates based on their voting record on important city issues. Not based on personal relationships. During my council terms I have always voted in favor of what’s best for our city, even if it means voting differently than other council members.

  • Strong and well-funded police and fire departments, as well as excellent city services. I am also fiscally conservative and believe in making sure all money is spent wisely and effectively… “Getting the most bang for our buck”.

  • The State of Ohio Open Check Book. A first of its kind, comprehensive website that provides open access to the financial and transactional data contained in the public entities such as local governments. The check book offers visitors a way to see how city money is spent, and where revenue is generated and allocated in the city’s budget.

  • Televised council meetings. I would like to extend those capabilities to board and commission meetings. Seeing a meeting live vs reading minutes is a much better way to understand the issues.

  • Addressing issues immediately as they arise. And consequently passing legislation pro-actively based on these issues.

Let’s build a strong city together.

I am not a politician, nor do I want to be. I am a voice for the people. For each and every one of you. I am representing the interest of those that voted me into office. I am not for petty politics or political gain. I will always respond to residents, listen to their issues and concerns, and vote for things that will protect the health, safety and welfare of you and our community.
